01To begin

An inn kept like a book.

Kotoha changes with the season. The menu, the furnishings, the hanging scroll — all of it is exchanged once a month. Nobody stays in the same month twice.

So we count the inn in issues. The April issue, the October issue. What you stay in is that month's edition.

Seven rooms.

A two-storey wooden house. Even the creak of the stairs is part of it.

A menu for each month.

The menu changes on the first of every month — what the Hida mountains give, and what the river gives. Written out, it comes to about thirty ingredients a month.

You're welcome to take the menu card home. Some guests cook from it.
